Career

In order, with nothing guessed

Six checkable dates, and a straight note about the one span that has none.

The documented trail behind Richard Joseph Spinelli is brief, and this page does not pad it. Each item below is pinned to a date somebody can check. Where no date exists, nothing is listed, and the hole stays where it is.

The sequence

  1. Bachelor of Science in Economics, Boston College

2018. The earliest date anyone can point to, and the single one that predates the business. Richard Joseph Spinelli studied economics at Boston College and now runs a student housing company.

  2. Sandhills Real Estate cofounded

2020. The business he has led ever since. It buys, rebuilds and lets housing for undergraduates on a handful of Bronx streets beside the campus.

  3. Buying narrows to the Belmont blocks

2022. Every purchase from this point onward lands inside a short walk of Rose Hill. That narrowing is the choice the whole operating model rests on.

  4. Austin Marathon, 3 hours and 30 minutes

2024. A pace of eight minutes a mile, sustained to the line, matching a target fixed in advance.

  5. Fordham Athletics partnership

August 11, 2026. The athletics department designated Sandhills its Exclusive Off Campus Housing Partner. A jersey uniform patch came with it, the first of its kind at the school, carried by two programmes.

  6. Two programmes wear the patch

2026 to 2027. The opening season in which both the baseball and men’s tennis squads carry it on the shirt.

Before the company

Only one checkable date sits earlier than 2020, the Boston College degree, and nothing here reaches past it. No job, rank or organisation appears for the span between leaving college and starting Sandhills Real Estate, because none of that is established in the material this site draws on.

The blank is on purpose, not by accident. Once a sequence starts patching holes with whatever sounds reasonable, it has stopped being a sequence of established dates, and nobody reading it can separate the checked items from the invented ones. Left open, the blank tells the truth.

Outside the company

Two athletic outcomes are established. Richard Joseph Spinelli went forty two miles at a last man standing race in Portland, Maine, an effort nobody has pinned to a calendar year, which is why it sits outside the dated sequence above. He also finished the 2024 Austin Marathon in 3 hours and 30 minutes.

In the essays, both surface less as sporting anecdotes and more as material for thinking about choices made while tired and short of time.

The portfolio at the close of August 2026

Thirteen assets and twenty seven units, home to more than one hundred residents, on and around Belmont Avenue, Lorillard Place and Bathgate Avenue. Treat those counts as a snapshot taken at the close of August 2026; they shift whenever another building closes. The record of what he has published since September 2026 is kept separately.

What the company actually does
